The Essentials Fund is thrilled to announce that applications are now open for our 2025 granting cycle! After successfully granting more than over $57,000 to 19 Waterloo Region community organizations in 2024, we are eager to continue our mission of providing essential items and services to vulnerable individuals and families throughout Waterloo Region.
Your Chance to Make a Difference
Building on the success of last year, The Essentials Fund is now accepting applications from local non-profit organizations for our 2025 granting cycle. If your organization provides essential items or services to support the long-term health and well-being of vulnerable individuals in Waterloo Region, we encourage you to apply.
The application deadline is Friday, June 13, 2025 at 5pm. Our goal is to provide a response to all applications by no later than July 15, 2025.

A Look Back at 2024
Last year, thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, The Essentials Fund was able to grant over $57,000 to 19 Waterloo Region community organizations in August! We received 29 applications, up from 14 last year, demonstrating ongoing significant need in our charitable and nonprofit sector. These grants enabled our partners to provide vital support, such as food, clothing, hygiene products, transportation assistance, and more, to their clients in need.
