The Essentials Fund is thrilled to announce that applications are now open for our 2024 granting cycle! After successfully supporting 14 local non-profit organizations in 2023, we are eager to continue our mission of providing essential items and services to vulnerable individuals and families throughout Waterloo Region.
Your Chance to Make a Difference
Building on the success of last year, The Essentials Fund is now accepting applications from local non-profit organizations for our 2024 granting cycle. If your organization provides essential items or services to support the long-term health and well-being of vulnerable individuals in Waterloo Region, we encourage you to apply.
The application deadline is Monday, June 24, 2024, at 5 PM. Our goal is to provide a response to all applications by no later than August 2, 2024.

A Look Back at 2023
Last year, thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, The Essentials Fund was able to distribute unrestricted grants of $2,900 each to organizations like the Sexual Assault Support Centre, Community Justice Initiatives, Waterloo Region Family Network, and Sanguen Health Centre. These grants enabled our partners to provide vital support, such as food, clothing, hygiene products, transportation assistance, and more, to their clients in need.
The impact of your support was truly profound. As the Sexual Assault Support Centre shared, “With some of our clients being precariously housed, the ability to help in this way is so very important.” Community Justice Initiatives expressed how the grant “allowed [them] to provide women leaving prison with essential and practical items… [enabling them] to return to the community with dignity.”
Your donations made a real difference in the lives of those facing difficult circumstances. We are deeply grateful for your trust and commitment to our community.
