“Years of collaborating with charities and nonprofit’s in our community have made me aware of the challenges they face finding money just to keep the lights on and meet the urgent needs of the people they support.
“I understand, funds are often intended to address a specific issue – to make an impact in a time and place of need. But sometimes what these essential community organizations need most is the flexibility to respond quickly to the unexpected.
“I am so proud that The Essentials Fund has been a partner to these community organizations, providing unrestricted grants to help them respond to people’s needs in the moment, without hesitation, and without needing to worry about where the money will come from.
“Also exciting is that we’re building what we’ve learned from how these funds are used to advocate for larger, systemic change – like our recent roundtable on affordable and accessible transit.
