“The Essentials Fund provides a lifeline to struggling community members by supplying Waterloo Region nonprofits with unrestricted grants for basic necessities. When we launched the fund in 2022, we received overwhelming support from the not for profit community. We heard first hand how the funds would help organizations ensure their clients had access to items like personal hygiene products, backpacks, clothing, baby formula, diapers, and bus tickets to clients. Though small, these essentials enable health, dignity and mobility for the Region’s most vulnerable residents.
